About 25 years ago I bought a King Charles Matelasse Queen bed spread made in Portugal that was superior quality. A couple of years ago it started fraying on the back side, but did not show on the outside. I started looking for a replacement bed spread. I ordered one from another retailer that was made in India. It was eight inches shorter in length and six inches shorter in length and a lot lighter in weight. I’ve been looking for a replacement bedspread for over a year. I came across Touch of Class about a month ago and ordered the Richmond Matelasse queen bed spread. It was made in Portugal and was the same quality of my old bedspread. I have a California King bed and was happy to to get a “bedspread” that fits my bed. I’ve had my share of comforters, but this bedspread is simple, yet elegant. It is also lightweight and very comfortable.

The pattern is that of a Coverlet, just with extended length to make it longer. That throws the pattern off when wrapped around pillows. I have other Williamsburg coverlets that have no patterned border at the top. The fabric quality, however, is very good my reason for a 3 rating, not a 2.

I was happy with it and the way it looks on my bed. I do wish the sides were slightly longer because of the mattresses being so high now days.

We bought this to replace a matelasse bedspread we'd had for thirty years that was coming apart. This one isn't as pretty -- or as heavy as the old one, so I doubt it will last another 30 years. (However, neither will we.) I chose this one because it doesn't have fringe on the border (which doesn't work with a footboard). Also, this one is ivory, the color I wanted. The others I looked at were too white or beige.

So Beautiful!!! I have a queen but bought the full because I didn't need the length and the full was more than enough. I realize after washing it there will be some shrinkage, but it will still be perfect!!

This is my 2nd Williamsburg. The 1st one is 12 yrs old, is still usable, but beginning to show signs of wear. The new one will replace the old one, also with a color change. I highly recommend the Williamsburg.

This spread is pretty and well-made. The size is generous. (Twin) The fabric is a bit more coarse than it appears on the Internet, but still looks nice. I found it rather heavy to sleep under, though it never was hot, so I folded it up and put it away after a couple nights. Not using it now.

This is my 2nd generation bedspread, wore previous one out over 10+ years. Love it. It really dresses up the bed, doesn’t wrinkle and comfortable for year round use.
