Daybed Cover Styles
Daybed Comforter Set
This is a bedding ensemble used to style a Twin daybed mattress; it mimics the layered look of a comforter. Usually includes 1 comforter daybed cover, 1 daybed bedskirt (both with three-side drops), and 2 King shams (or 3 Standard/Queen shams).
Note: Comforter daybed covers cannot be used on a regular Twin-size bed. A daybed is a Twin-size bed with a three-sided daybed frame. Without this frame, shams will not stand upright or display properly.
Daybed Bedspread Set
A daybed bedspread set is an ensemble used to style a Twin mattress with a daybed frame. Usually includes 1 daybed bedspread with a three-sided drop and 2 King shams (or 3 Standard/Queen shams).
Note: Like daybed comforters, bedspread daybed covers cannot be used on a regular Twin-sized bed without a three-sided frame.
A Daybed Bedspread...
Has split corners
May have an extra panel of fabric (called a "cap") on its back edge. A cap keeps the cover in place on the mattress
Can have a 21- or 24-inch drop
Hollywood Daybed Cover
A fitted, three-sided bedspread engineered to fit a Twin mattress; unlike a bedspread daybed cover, Hollywood covers are not usually sold in a set.
The Hollywood cover, however, does not require a daybed frame. Just push the mattress against the wall to support the bolster shams in the back.
