You love the layered look of a bedskirt beneath a comforter or a quilt, but you're not really sure how to put one on yourself. Fortunately, adding a bedskirt to your ensemble is relatively simple; after making sure it's the correct size, it's as easy as sandwiching your bedskirt between the mattress and the box spring.
Mattress Sizes (in inches):

How to Measure Your Mattress for a Bedskirt
Materials
Tape Measure
An extra pair of hands (if the mattress is particularly large)
Directions
First, make sure the bedskirt is the correct size for the box spring.
Iron the bedskirt for a polished, wrinkle-free appearance. (Skip to Step 6 if using a bedskirt without a platform.)
Lift the mattress off of the box spring. Place the mattress in a convenient area where it can be easily retrieved.
Arrange the bedskirt over the box spring. Drape the platform over the top of the box spring and adjust the corners so they drape properly over the edges.
Lower the mattress gently back down onto the box spring; sliding the mattress onto the box spring may dislodge the bedskirt.
Tip: Insert a safety pin through your bedskirt into your box spring to better keep it in place.
If using a bedskirt without a platform, the mattress does not need to be removed. Bedskirts may have elastic, screw pin, or hook-and-loop tape features that allow the skirt panels to attach to the sides or top edges of the box spring.
Style the bedskirt. If it's a gathered bedskirt, bunch the folds for a fuller appearance. If it's tailored, adjust the split corners to hide the box spring below.
