Just put it up when I got the other stuff. I’m a female, so I don't left the toilet seat up. My son was in the bathroom and I heard a slam. I asked, "Why are you slamming my seat? I paid too much for that seat." He said, "Mom, it won't stay up. You have to hold it." I said, "Not for the price I paid." So, I called but it was too late, they were closed, but I will be calling back tomorrow.

These seats are very regal and I've received many compliments on them. I liked them so much that I bought the accessories to match them.

Thrilled with this. It looks so good in a Guest Bathroom! Recommended. I have bought four different decorative seats -- this one, the gold, a silver and the Palm Tree seat which has great colors! PS-All of the seats are extremely heavy. They are very well constructed.

It is very pretty design, but is so heavy I believe it would break if you didn't hold it gently to close. I'm sending it back. Not what I expected.

Love the look! (We put it in our South West style bathroom) but have a few reservations: for one, it is a very heavy toilet seat. My husband attached a bumper to the front of the tank lid to absorb the impact when leaning the toilet seat back, so as to protect the “gold leaf” wave design on the seat. Also, he found that the hinge mounts were not positioned correctly so that the bolts didn’t fit squarely through the porcelain holes. The mounts were slightly bound at an angle. For an item that expensive and heavy, you would want the hinge mounts to meet the industry standard for placement. My husband was able to install the seat, but the mounts function in a slight bind with the hinge.

I love this seat it matches my bathroom decor perfect. Looks just like the picture. It is very sturdy and heavy. I am worried about it falling down on my 2 year old grandchildren hands. Lots of compliments from guests.
