instructions could have been better. they should have told you to do some steps ahead of some of the teps
that were ahead ot it-increased to time to assemble.
looks nice it was a little high price for the unit. . sticky
woodgrain cocers for screws would have been a good touch.

Beautiful wood

I love the workmanship and the piece is very pretty. The directions are good for putting it all together, but it is too hard to get the drawer in place!! My husband and I were very disappointed in this last step. If someone purchased this piece and was not good at putting things together, I feel sure they would return it. I would rather pay more and get it already assembled than have to go through that again! I wanted to purchase at least one more when it arrived, but after fighting to get the drawer in place - I am going to look for something else.

Just what we needed

My kids love to leave their shoes "downstairs" but I hated to see them scattered all about. This was a great solution for us. The kids love to put their shoes in this bench...and I get to see a beautiful piece of furniture instead of shoes everywhere. The top part of it is smaller but it works fine for kids' shoes. Others seem to buy this for a bedroom or a closet, but for us it's a great piece for our family room!

Solid, heavy and efficient

Recently purchased the bench and assembled it the day after it arrived. Spent about an hour putting it together. Having read the "not enough glue" reviews from other people, I went out and bought a bottle of wood glue at Home Depot. The glue provided with the product is, at best, a teaspoon's worth. Definitely buy a bottle of wood glue if you're going to purchase this item. Instructions are clear and easy to follow. the most difficult part of assembling this was near the end, when you have to have the patience of a saint in order to get the hinges to aline with the holes they fit into, which allows for the drawer to open and close. I would prefer to have a little bit bigger knobs on the front of the unit, as the door is heavy and since the knobs are small, it makes it a little more difficult to open the piece. Finally, I predict that the cushion on top will need replacement before long, as it does not appear to be made of a durable padding.

Aubrie Shoe Storage Bench 7181

Instruction is very clear and easy to follow. The final product looks high scale. We are very satisfied with the product. The only draw back is the last row can only hold kid's shoes (less than size 4)
